I'll Go first,
They kicked off and we dominated them for the first 20 minutes, they had moments but we were quite good at shutting them down and created lots of space in the midfield.Made plenty of opportunities in attack and defended really well, the first opportunity coming from as corner which paddy delivered and I tried to header but only managed to get some scraggly hair on it missing the goal,Rauru going close on a couple of occasions also.
later in that half they had a corner and I cleared the ball on the line.(had to get that in there)
The 2nd half barely got started before Aaron was given to much time on the ball in a dangerous area 25 yards out and with a curling left foot effort had the ball past the keeper who didn't move and we were 1-0 up.
The goals kept coming Gus found space after bamboozling their defence with a mazy run through the box and an attempt cross goal ball to Graham ended up deflecting off a N.W player and we were 2-0 up much to the consternation of the opposition furious a free kick was not awarded them for an earlier incident. We then went on to shut them down we lost focus at times but in general had the shade over them all day Stallions 2-0 winners...

only team to keep a clean sheet... badass!

That first 20 minutes was some of the best Stallions action ever. Sure we didn't convert any of it, but the possession, short passing, control, and dominance in defence was impressive and put us totally on top. Then we got tired.

Interesting results in the grade - Accies got a good win too. But somehow 2-0 feels a lot more satisfying than their flashy 5-3.

As Graham said at the after match function, "it was just like watching Brazil!"

Perfect way to start the new season, a great all round performance.

Played in good spirit overall and great conditions. Though wind and a bumpy hard surface is a bit more demanding on touch and passing than Boyd Wilson pre-season!

On the defensive side of things - great display lads. Except for a few instances kept feet well. Supporting/covering one another really well. Remember Jason getting up and beating the tall striker to a header, and solid commitment from the centre mid to get back and shut their midfield down.

got bloody sore ribs from when i hit a guy in the second half - hoping its just a bruise and not cracked

Rauru, I'm awaiting a zonalmarking.net type report please. It's the only post game information I bother with...
