How did Miramar get all those goals? They weren't tracking that far ahead when we met them in round 1.

6th place - I'll take that, could be better but about what we deserve and most important we are around in Div 6 for another year.

In Div 5 two Brooklyn teams have been relegated (one which is the clubs 2nds) so could be interesting to see what happens there (i.e. whether they keep three teams in the grade). Rapt that Wainui beat NWC - they are our new grudge match - a team that we should comfortably beat but somehow dont.

Was a funny old season that's for sure. Results have been all over the place. Other than Wests, the Raiders were by far the next best team in terms of who we played. Miramar were pants the first time we played them but were much better second time, but still not as good as Raiders. I guess that's what our grade is about, there's a lot of inconsistencies.

After 8 games (almost halfway) we were in 5th (3W-1D-4L), with Raiders in 6th on goal diff (3-1-4), and Miramar 2 points back (2-2-4). We all had 4 losses at that point. NWC were in 3rd, 5 points ahead of us with 5 wins (5-0-3).

By the end NWC had still only 5 wins with 2 draws and 8 losses in their final 10 games. Miramar had 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, Raiders 7 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses. These teams had completely different halves of their seasons going from slow start to strong finishes. Miramar's team was quite different the second time we played them and it seemed like Raiders often had different teams take the field.

After starting with a 3-1-4 record, our final 10 games were 3-2-5 so even though it felt (to me) like our season went a bit down hill towards the end of the season it was actually pretty consistent. I guess because we started with 3 wins it may have felt a bit like that.

All in all I think we can hold our heads up with the season. I think we'll feel a bit frustrated with a lot of aspects but we can also feel pretty pleased with a lot of aspects too. Will be interesting to look back and see if we have ever scored that many goals. We possibly have never conceded that many goals either, so next season we'll have to combine the best of both worlds.

Will be good to see as many people as possible at the end of season club function.
